Just A Little Bit Greener

When we first started our business we worried to no end about “looking” like a real company. We were running the business out of a spare bedroom, but felt like everyone knew we were just a tiny little home-based business, so we had to do things that made us look “bigger”. We had white boxes, fancy packaging, many of our products were in plastic retail clam shells, we had boxes stacked up to our eyeballs, and we realized we were creating a lot of waste.

A few years ago we realized some of this had to change. Customers were relying on us to get their orders their promptly and accurately. And we were running out of space. So we started “Getting Greener” not because we were out to save the world, we simply started by trying to save ourselves. We did it in small ways – less packaging, smaller boxes that were kraft brown (which meant no bleach), and fewer inserts in the box. It’s been more than 6 years since we started, and there seems to be no turning back. Even our manufacturers have gotten in on the Going Green with PVC-free products and other Eco-Friendly materials.
